It's tough for Australia to achieve unprecedented feats.

The top summits have been successfully scaled.

We're talking about the team that has won seven Cricket World Cups, plus an additional six T20 titles, and earlier maintained nearly four years undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, targeted by the record chasers, are the only things left for a team that has won it all.

It needed until Sunday's success by three wickets over India for them to accomplish their maiden ODI chase over 300, regaining their record for the largest in the women's 50-over format, is, in truth, a tribute to the bowlers that have represented Australia over five decades.

It's challenging for their hitters to maintain a record if never given the chance.

"For those following me in practice sessions, it has been a disappointing period because I feel like I've had no rhythm whatsoever," commented Healy.

"Yet the moment you enter the playing area, your competitive nature activate and you just lock into the contest."

Healy's competitiveness has always been her key asset - and an irreplaceable characteristic in replacing legendary former captain Meg Lanning.

She was troubled by India's rising star Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, fallen to the young fast bowler in each encounter, but here that only provided Healy's spark.

One run resulted off the opening delivery and from there the batsman was in motion.

"The possibility to play and lock in a contest with her and merely enjoy the moment in that regard, somewhat inspired me," commented Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 deliveries - her swiftest at the World Cup - and her ton in 84 as she punished short deliveries, hitting 21 fours and three big hits.

By the time she was dismissed Australia needed 66 more at one run per ball - an achievable target now needing a comfortable finish.

"To chase 330 is new territory so I'm pleased we have the confidence to accomplish that now," continued Healy.

"Hopefully we don't have to do it another time but, should it happen, we know we can achieve it."

That comment will be the ultimate thing competing nations at this tournament want to hear.

Over the past five days a sense they will win from any position has grown stronger - this success succeeding victory over Pakistan by 107-run victory despite being 76-7 at one stage.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before an encounter with longtime competitors England in Indore in ten days, by which point a last-four spot may well be secure.

During that phase they left last year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - a match Healy missed because of torn tissue in her foot as she guided Australia for the initial instance at a major tournament.

Such is her determination, she afterwards commented she wished she had played with the discomfort.

But while she afterwards confessed those physical issues have postponed plans to retire, this tournament is expected to be her last as captain in one-day cricket and she is hasn't yet secured a world championship as leader.
